After more than a decade in the fashion industry, prominent Ukrainian designer Natalya Kamenskaya and art director Maria Gavrilyuk started Gunia Project. What began as a personal hobby and research project on Ukraine’s cultural heritage eventually turned into a brand named for a Carpathian garment. Today, championing ancient folk art forms and ethnic cultures, Gunia Project works closely with artisans across the country to create heirloom-worthy homewares that fit perfectly into the aesthetics of modern life.
Gunia Project aims to promote and preserve Ukraine’s cultural heritage, yet keeps an eye toward the future. They’re giving traditions a fresh and contemporary twist while rethinking the importance of natural and human resources.
