A Considered Few

Caroline Issa

London-based editor and creative director of Tank Magazine, Caroline Issa shares the objects that have shaped her home through years of travel. Her selection celebrates craftsmanship, personal stories, and the joy of living with pieces collected with intention.

Collecting Stories: Considered pieces gathered along the way

I travel a lot and the souvenirs I bring back are always objects that might remind me of the sense of place, but will also look fantastic amongst the rest of my treasures I've accumulated.

I love things that have major personality, and have a beautiful story behind the makers who craft them so that I can feel a connection to them once they are in my home and out of that country or store. But I also gravitate towards things that bear much of the makers hand, or process, whether woven things, painted things, polished things.

I do have a small obsessions with always bringing home decorative objects that have zero function, they just happen to be totally beautiful or remind me of a moment on my travels, and I'm only just starting to get worried we will run out of room in our London flat for all the lovely objects.
