Harrison and Johanna play with the ecoBirdy Art Corner Set

Harrison and Johanna definitely needed a table upgrade to play and do crafts, as well as eat snacks and even meals since we often eat in the living room together. We've been in the market for a table that would seat two since Jojo hit the toddler years, and this set really fit the bill. It's the perfect little table for two younger children and we also don't mind having it out in common areas because it's also so beautifully designed.

Another big draw is ecoBirdy's ethical design process. It's great to have such a multifunctional piece that's also an eco-conscious one. Sustainability is something that we try to teach our kids about, so the brand’s "Journey To A New Life" storybook was a wonderful tool for educating the kids. Harrison was especially interested in the upcycling of plastic from discarded toys.

The set is so beautiful and works as an end table anywhere in the house. I work from home and sometimes don't like to work at a table or desk, but I still need a spot to hold my textbooks and laptop, or a tea while grading essays or writing copy (I freelance for an agency that works with small independent businesses and clean beauty brands).

Jojo is three years old and is still at home with me while Harrison is at school. She loves using the table for independent play—to draw and learn her letters, and play with magnetic building tiles in their shared room while I get work done. I'll sometimes hear her having conversations with her dolls and having tea parties with them at the table. So, so cute.

My husband and I also love how lightweight it is, which makes it conveniently portable—and it's also so easy to clean. Our old table was kind of a nightmare to clean, so I appreciate how simple it is to wipe down, even after having been used outside and is covered in bubble solution and grass! It’s light enough for the kids to move and reposition in their room or different spots in the house as well.

"I'll sometimes hear her having conversations with her dolls and having tea parties with them at the table."

Here's a quick, easy recipe for enough homemade non-toxic bubble solution to last a couple weeks in the spring:

  • 5 cups distilled water

  • 1/2 cup of dish soap

  • 2 tablespoons glycerin (to make your bubbles a bit sturdier)

Mix your ingredients in a pourable container for a few hours or overnight and you’ve got some clean bubbles ready for the next day.
